I am a licensed used car dealer in the State of Florida but 85% of the sales effort is an on-line presentation of a limited amount of inventory.
No kidding, I am an old timer with little or no computer ed. About a year ago I bought the dealer software package from e Dealer Design & met Jim Penn on the phone. I paid a little extra from their standard package price & got a basic website. I say basic because the “website” is essentially the “software“ & it is easy to use because if I can do it anybody can. There is a basic format that everybody will learn to use in a very short period of time.
Then there are little “special” areas of the software that I needed help with. I only need help because I do not know computer words. No problem. If you are like me & need assistance you simply call or email Jim any time day or night, even the weekends & he answers the phone & makes me feel like a do-do bird because it usually takes about one minute to put me on-track also Jim is continually updating the software to accommodate what is happening out in the real world.
There is an area of the software format where you put in the vin # & then describe your car or truck. Take some nice pictures & load them so that your prospective customer can see them & get interested. When the customer is interested then the other 15% of your sales takes place. You meet your prospect & show the prospect the car in the flesh & finish the sale.
I use the e Dealer Design software in conjunction with my website, www.carfaxclub.com & promote my website with either craigslist, cars.com or the newspaper. I usually have around 12 - 15 units in inventory and sell 8 or 9 per month.
This has really been the answer to making my meager Social Security work. This year you can have additional taxable income without reducing your S.S. benefit & this business model combined with the effortless software from e Dealer Design is the answer.
